AMERSFOORT – At Golfclub De Hoge Kleij, the innovative ShaftSaverPro underwent a baptism of fire at the highest level. None other than Che de Bake – known for his passion for long driving – tested the influence of the ShaftSaverPro using an indoor Trackman setup.
The Test Setup
The central question was: Does a mounted ShaftSaverPro influence the performance of a top golf professional? To test this, Che de Bake hit two series of balls at 90% of his power. The driver used was the Titleist TSi2, featuring a high-quality Project X HZRDUS shaft: flex 6.0 (stiff); weight 60g; torque 3.5° (low spin).
To keep the test as objective as possible, De Bake hit entirely by feel: he was not shown any technical data and only saw the ball flight on the screen. This excluded any form of adjusting based on numbers, highlighting the pure interaction between the player and the club.

The Outcome: Full Swing Speed Maintained
The results underscore the quality of the design. Despite the protection on the shaft, the performance of the long driver remained unparalleled. The ShaftSaverPro proved to be “invisibly” present in the swing, without disrupting aerodynamics or balance.
The Feel Remained Identical
Professionals are known for sensing even minute differences in setups. After the second series, the conclusion was reached, and De Bake confirmed that the feel with the ShaftSaverPro was identical to the feel without it.
Summary of Test Results
The combined data from all shots revealed the following impressive averages:
- Average total distance: A powerful 300+ yards / 280+ meters.
- Average ball speed: 176 mph.
- Maximum efficiency: A stable Smash Factor of 1.45.
Conclusion for the Golfer
The test with Che de Bake at De Hoge Kleij proves that the ShaftSaverPro leaves the performance of a driver completely intact. Even at these extreme speeds and distances, there is no noticeable influence on ball flight or control.
For recreational players, this means that the ShaftSaverPro provides optimal protection against wear from the golf bag without requiring any compromise on distance or precision.
In the coming period, we will conduct various tests with different setups and professionals to gain an even better understanding of the ShaftSaverPro.
